Quality education for all
In April 2024, our dream came true: we opened our own primary school. Tumi International School (TIS) is committed to providing Quality Education for All. TIS prioritizes holistic, inclusive, and high-quality education, ensuring accessibility for children from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
The opening was a great success, but now it’s time to grow! While our Women Empowerment Centre is 100% self-sustaining, we still need support for Tumi International School. We want to expand, improve, and give as many children as possible the opportunity to experience this type of education.
On this page, you’ll find a lot of information about our plans, but of course, we’re happy to provide more details. Donations of any amount are welcome—every little bit helps! TUMI Ghana is a certified Public Benefit Organization (ANBI), meaning donations are tax-deductible.

Background
Education is the cornerstone of any society. In Ghana, it is taken very seriously. However, so seriously that this often means that children are not allowed to just be children. Creativity is restricted, and their natural curiosity is stifled.
The result? Children who can only reproduce what teachers say, without developing critical thinking, problem-solving skills, or the ability to come up with creative solutions.
Our school
At Tumi International School, we embrace a holistic approach to education, blending academic excellence with emotional intelligence, creativity, and hands-on learning experiences.
Our primary goal is to nurture children’s natural curiosity while fostering confidence in their unique intelligence and talents. We have cultivated a safe and supportive environment where every child can flourish as an individual, discover their strengths, and grow into their full potential.
Accessibility
At Tumi International School, accessibility is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that quality education should be available to all children, regardless of their financial circumstances. To achieve this, 30% of our students receive scholarships, allowing children from underserved backgrounds to benefit from our school.
In addition to providing scholarships, we strive to keep our tuition fees as low as possible to make our school accessible to middle-class families who might otherwise struggle to afford high-quality education. By doing so, we ensure that children from diverse socio-economic backgrounds can learn and grow together in an inclusive environment.
However, maintaining this level of accessibility while upholding our high standards of education requires substantial resources. We rely on additional support to sustain our current programs, provide scholarships, and expand our facilities to reach even more students. Your contribution helps us bridge the gap, ensuring that no child is left behind in accessing quality education.
